Bengaluru HORROR! Woman’s body found chopped into over 30 pieces, stored in fridge in Malleswaram

Bengaluru Murder: In a horrifying rerun of the infamous 2022 Shraddha Walker case, the dismembered body of a 29-year-old woman was found “stored” in a refrigerator at her single-bedroom house in Malleswaram area of Bengaluru on Saturday. According to the police, the body of the victim, Mahalakshmi, was chopped into over 30 pieces, and stuffed into a fridge.

A senior police official said that it is suspected that the woman was murdered around a week ago and the culprit chopped her body into multiple pieces, stuffed it into a refrigerator, presumably with an intentions to dispose off the dismembered corpse later.

“A woman’s body was found chopped into pieces and stored in a fridge at a house within the Vyalikaval police station limits. It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (West Zone) N Satheesh Kumar, according to news agency PTI.

As per the police, the shocking murder came to light after neighbors discovered a foul stench emanating from the victim’s house on Saturday morning, following which they alerted the local authorities.

Victim lived alone

Giving details, ACP Kumar said the slain victim, who worked at a local mall in Malleswaram, lived  alone in the single-bedroom house where her found was discovered.

Mahalakshmi’s husband, Hemant Das, who works in a hermitage away from Bengaluru city, rushed to Malleswaram after learning about his wife’s tragic fate, police said, adding that the victim lived alone due to her husband being away for work outside the city.

The ACP said that the road leading to the building which houses the victim’s apartment, has been barricaded while dog squad and forensic experts were also called in to investigate the crime scene.

“The body has been identified. The probe is going on. We will give more information after the investigation. She was settled in Karnataka but is originally from another state,” the senior officer told reporters.

Police said they have registered a case and launched an investigation into the brutal killing.

Shraddha Walker rerun

The Malleswaram killing bears an eerie resemblance to the brutal murder of Delhi resident Shraddha Walker, who was killed by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla on May 18, 2022 in Mehrauli, Delhi.

Poonawala, 28, had allegedly Walkar to death and then sawed her body into 35 pieces which he kept in a 300-litre fridge for almost three weeks at his residence before dumping them across the city.
