Very few people know that Ratan Tata attended school in Himachal Pradesh during his childhood, despite being born in Mumbai. He first attended Campion School in Mumbai, where he studied until the 8th standard. Later, he moved to Himachal Pradesh and enrolled in a school that is considered India’s first public school.
Ratan Tata studied at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, which is believed to be one of the most respected and largest schools in Asia. The school spans 56 acres and is a boarding school for boys aged 8 to 18 years.
Apart from Ratan Tata, there are several other prominent individuals who attended this prestigious institution. According to the list of alumni on the school’s website, these include well-known writer and Padma Shri awardee Ruskin Bond, former Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh, senior advocate Fali Nariman, former chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, and film actor Kumar Gaurav.
