Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful actresses in the industry. She has delivered several superhit films throughout her career. However, did you know that there is an actress who was often referred to as Aishwarya’s doppelganger? Her striking eyes were considered her most beautiful feature. However, unlike Aishwarya, this actress’s career never took off in Bollywood. She struggled to establish herself and eventually left the industry.
The actress in question is not from India but was born and raised in Muscat, Oman, in a Tulu Devadiga family. While her father hails from Mangalore, her mother is Sindhi. The actress we are talking about is Sneha Ullal.
Sneha Ullal pursued her education in Oman before relocating to Mumbai with her mother. In Mumbai, she attended Durelo Convent High School and later studied at Vartak College.
Did you know that Sneha is a close friend of Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita Khan? In the early 2000s, Salman was going through a rough phase after his breakup with Aishwarya Rai. During this time, he was looking for an actress to feature in a film, and Arpita suggested Sneha’s name.
Sneha Ullal made her acting debut with Salman Khan’s romantic drama Lucky: No Time For Love (2005). Directed by Sohail Khan, the film was highly anticipated before its release but failed at the box office. Sneha also gained attention for her striking resemblance to Aishwarya Rai.
After Lucky, Sneha appeared in Aryan, Kaashh… Mere Hote, Click, and several other films. However, she struggled to leave a lasting impact on the audience. After trying her luck in Bollywood, Sneha moved to Telugu cinema, where she finally found success. Her debut movie, Ullasamga Utsahamga, directed by Yasho Sagar, was a blockbuster hit.
In an interview, Sneha Ullal opened up about her struggle with an autoimmune disorder, as reported by Bangalore Mirror. She said, “I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. It’s a blood-related illness where my immune system kept me unwell. My body would become so weak that I could not stand on my feet for more than 30 to 40 minutes. Because I kept shooting, it got worse. That’s when I had to stop and start my medication.”
Throughout her career, Sneha has worked with Salman Khan, Allu Arjun, Sayaji Shinde, and many others.
