Islamabad: There were suspicions long ago that China could expand militarily within Pakistan, but recent reports have revealed that China’s footprint has already entered Pakistan and a secret military base is being established in Karachi. An investigative report by Pakistan Voice states that Pakistan’s sovereignty is now in danger and the Chinese army has intruded into Karachi.
The report makes several sensational claims. It also states that the Pakistani army is playing a double game with China. According to Pakistan Voice’s investigative reporting, China has rapidly begun to expand its influence in Pakistan since April 2022. It mentions that China has established its command center in Karachi and has also built a thousand-bed hospital in Karachi. Therefore, experts are now raising questions about Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Pakistan’s Army, which has a Defense Housing Authority, has built a magnificent society for the Chinese inside Karachi, which will act as an intelligence command center. China’s military will work from here to do foreign surveillance. This will also include keeping an eye on Pakistan. Retired officers of the Pakistani Army have been deployed here as security guards. It is believed that China has become aggressive to save the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It has invested more than $60 billion in this project so far. Gwadar port was said to be the heart of CPEC, which China said would become the hub of South Asia’s trade.
But China’s real aim was not to make Gwadar a shipping center but to establish a naval base. Experts believe that the design of Gwadar port is more military than commercial. However, continuous terrorist attacks have posed a threat to these Chinese projects. The ongoing attacks by Baloch insurgents have troubled China. An investigative report by Pakistan Voice states that China has made a secret deal with the Baloch, negotiating not to attack Chinese citizens. As a result, attacks on Chinese citizens have currently ceased, but attacks continue in other parts of Pakistan.
Gilgit-Baltistan, which is a province of Pakistan, is at the center of terrorist attacks, because of which the Pakistan Army is being fiercely criticized. Terror attacks have now shaken China’s patience and it is believed that very soon China is going to take all control in its hands. China is raising strong questions on Pakistan’s credibility and its campaign against terrorism.
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have withdrawn their investment from the Gwadar project, which is a big setback for Pakistan.
Intelligence inputs say that the ISI inwardly asks extremist forces to attack Chinese projects, so that maximum advantage can be taken from China on the pretext of countering Western powers.
Meanwhile, it is reported that China may send its troops to Pakistan.
