Meet the most educated member of Kapoor family, left Bollywood, now works as…, is son of….

The Kapoor family in Bollywood is known for its actors who have entertained audiences generation after generation. From the late legendary actor Prithviraj Kapoor to Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor, all these actors and actresses have been an integral part of Bollywood. However, there is one member of the Kapoor family who has earned the title of the most educated member and also made headlines a few months back because of his degree. You will be amazed to know that this actor stays away from the limelight and enjoys a peaceful life.

If you are wondering about the member we are talking about, it is Aditya Raj Kapoor, son of ace actor Shammi Kapoor. Aditya is the only member of the Kapoor family who not only graduated at the age of 67 but also works as a teacher, away from the family’s cinematic heritage.

Ranbir Kapoor once revealed that no man from the renowned Kapoor family had studied beyond class XII. However, Aditya Raj Kapoor broke this stereotype by earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in 2023.

Aditya Raj Kapoor quit Bollywood and became one of those actors in the family who chose a peaceful life. Before choosing teaching, Aditya worked in films, though not as an actor but as an assistant director. He worked with his uncle Raj Kapoor for Bobby and continued with films like Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Geraftaar (1985), and Saajan (1991), among others.

Later, Aditya worked in a few films but couldn’t establish himself as an actor, so he pursued something he was passionate about. In a recent interview, Aditya revealed the reason he chose a different path and why he distanced himself from Raj Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor.

Aditya Raj Kapoor felt that he was not living up to his family’s legacy in films. In an interview, when asked why Shammi Kapoor’s family stayed away from the film industry while only Shashi Kapoor and Raj Kapoor’s families continued the legacy, he said, “Well, yes, I did stay away. And for years, I would avoid meeting Raj Uncle or his son Randhir (because I felt that I ran away from the family fold). But I had my reasons for doing something else. Raj Uncle had discovered all that was cinematically possible. What would I do new?”

Meanwhile, Aditya earned a Philosophy degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University at 67, becoming one of India’s oldest graduates.
