Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, along with his philanthropist wife, Nita Ambani, and their children — Anant Ambani, and Akash Ambani, live in the Antilia in Mumbai, a grand 27-storey mansion in Mumbai, estimated to be worth a staggering Rs 15000 crore.

The Antilia mansion, located on the posh Altamount Road in Mumbai’s Cumbala Hill, is one of most expensive private homes in the world, boasting top-of-the-line amenities, including a fully-equipped expansive gym, a private spa, a private theatre, terrace garden, indoor swimming pools, three helipads, as well as a temple and in-house healthcare facilities.

But did you know that there is a rumor floating on the internet that the uber-luxurious mansion does not have air conditioning. Let us find out if this true:

Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia doesn’t have AC?

The rumor is not entirely wrong, the Antilia does not have traditional air conditioning with an outdoor unit, which was done to preserve the mansion’s unique aesthetics. The Ambani house has a centralized AC system, where the temperature is controlled based on the marble, flowers, plants, and other elements inside the structure. The temperature is set automatically according to conditions, and cannot be adjusted manually.

The rumor about the Antilia lacking an AC stems from an incident narrated by actress Shreya Dhanwantri, when she as one of the fifty models shooting for designer Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla inside the lavish house.

Shreya revealed that she felt chilly inside the Antilia and asked manager of the Ambani house to adjust the AC temperature, to which he replied that it was not possible to adjust manually.

The manager told her that the marble and flowers in the mansion need to be kept at a specific temperature and the AC auto-adjusts according to various locations inside the house.

Notably, each room inside the Antilia consumes an average of 300 units, while the median consumption of the entire structure is around 6,37,240 per month, which is equivalent to the monthly electricity consumption of about 7000 middle-class households in Mumbai.
