Trump vs Musk: In the latest development in the ‘fight of titans’, where the world’s richest man is fighting with the most powerful man on the globe, with the GOP’s sweeping budget bill at the centre, United States President Donald Trump on Saturday stated that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk would face ‘serious consequences’ if he considered supporting Democratic Party candidates by funding them to run against Republicans. “If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” NBC News quoted Trump as saying. However, the US President didn’t reveal what those consequences would be.
New Twist In Musk And Trump Fight
Trum and Musk’s friendship deteriorated after the richest man in the world departed from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aimed at reducing the government’s expenses. DOGE had made noticeable progress in reducing governmental spending until Musk broke ties with the Trump administration and started openly criticising him on social media platforms.
Friendship ‘Over’?
As per NBC, President Trump clearly said that he has no desire to fix his deteriorating relationship with Musk after their feud became public for a week. Responding to whether his friendship with SpaceX CEO is over, he responded “I would assume so, yeah.”
Don’t Wanna Speak
President Trump stated he has no immediate plans to speak with Elon Musk, citing a busy schedule and Musk’s alleged disrespectful conduct towards the presidency.
“I think it’s a very bad thing, because he’s very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the President,” NBC quoted the US President as saying.
On Thursday, Trump voiced his frustration with Musk’s opposition to his proposed “big, beautiful bill”, noting Musk’s prior familiarity with the bill’s details.
“I’m very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill. I’m very disappointed in Elon. I’ve helped Elon a lot,” President Trump said.
