WATCH: Bad news for star player from Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR and Rohit Sharma’s opening partner, rushed to hospital after…

Mumbai batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who opens alongside Rohit Sharma and also represents Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, was released from the hospital on Friday (December 26). He was cleared after medical tests showed no issues following a head injury he suffered during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Mumbai and Uttarakhand.

The incident happened in the 30th over of the second innings when Saurabh Rawat tried a slog sweep off Tanush Kotian and the ball went high towards deep mid-wicket. Raghuvanshi, who was fielding near the boundary, ran in and dived to take the catch but hit his head on the ground during the attempt.

Mumbai players and the medical team quickly came to help him, and he was taken off the field on a stretcher before being shifted to a nearby hospital for scans and checks. There was a short delay in bringing the stretcher and ambulance, and Raghuvanshi looked uncomfortable and had trouble moving his neck, which caused concern among players and officials.

Later tests showed that the 19-year-old had suffered a concussion, but all reports came back normal. He was discharged from the hospital and is now recovering well, which was a big relief for Mumbai and KKR fans. As part of concussion guidelines, he will continue to be monitored, and a careful decision will be taken before he returns to play. The incident highlighted the risks involved in intense fielding, even as the positive update eased worries about the young batter.
