New Delhi: India reported 5 cases of HMPV on Monday—-2 in Karnataka, 1 in Gujarat, and 2 in Chennai. This concerning rise in cases has put the states on alert. However, the Health Ministry has asked the citizens not to panic. In a video statement, Union Health Minister JP Nadda asserted that the government is closely monitoring the HMPV cases in India and China. He said that there is no reason to be worried. The Union Health Ministry sought to calm concerns, assuring the public that it is fully prepared to manage any potential rise in respiratory illnesses. HMPV, a globally recognized respiratory virus, has recently drawn attention following an outbreak in China.
